16 BEST ELECTRIC BIKES UNDER $2000

It doesn’t seem that long ago, electric bikes were a novelty, and it was hard to find a good one under $2000. Today they are pretty much everywhere. People realized that not only were they great fun, but they could also take the place of a second car for many families.

Of course, as the market has expanded, so to have the range of prices. And while you could easily spend more than $10,000 on a premium electric bicycle, you don’t have to. Today, many up and coming companies are building quality frames and then turning to well-established bike component makers to finish the job. Their ability to buy high-end components at scale has meant an increased number of well-made, more affordable e-bikes.

Now before we launch into our list of the Best Electronic E-Bikes Under $2,000, it’s essential to go over a couple things to pay attention to before you purchase an e-bike.

Your Needs

There is an e-bike out there for everybody, but not everybody will be happy with the same e-bike. Really spend some time thinking about what the primary use will be for your electric bicycle. It’s perfectly ok if you plan to use it as a commuter and a weekend adventure bike, but be honest with yourself about which is more important. If you have an office with limited bike parking and you’d feel safer folding your bicycle up and tucking it under your desk, that may take precedent over having a hardy trail rider. Fortunately, there are some great hybrids on this list!

Name Brands Are Helpful

There are some really great new manufacturers moving into the e-bike space these days. However, one of the best shortcuts in making a purchasing decision is to look for the name brands you already know. Especially with components like motors and batteries, you’re better to go with a Samsung, LG, Bosch, or Bafang than something completely untested. If you decide to take a chance on an unfamiliar manufacturer, just be sure the deal is so good that you won’t mind paying a little more to swap out the parts or replace the bike in the not too distant future.
